About Laura

I was introduced to watercolor on a vacation to the Big Island where my daughters and I painted with watercolor artist Candace Lee. Although painting began as a hobby, it has since evolved into a lifelong artistic journey. I have enjoyed taking classes and workshops with artists as varied as Jim Caldwell (Woodside, CA), Kathleen Alexander (Maui, HI), Alvaro Castanet (Montevideo, Uruguay), Andy Evanson (MN), David R. Smith (MN), Michael Reardon (Berkeley, CA), Mike Bailey (Santa Cruz, CA) and Pat Dews (NYC). Each has generously shared their deep knowledge, techniques and unique artistic styles for which I am most grateful. I haven’t put in my 10,000 hours yet. I’m still growing and my own style continues to evolve. This website contains paintings that I’ve completed on this journey — many from the classes and workshops I’ve taken along the way. I will do commissioned work if you have a reference photo you’d like me to paint. You can contact me by email at laurabob0421@gmail.com.

I currently travel often and split my time in California between homes in Los Altos and Santa Cruz.
